MINORS/PARENTAL CONSENT: A minor is delegated by the state of Florida as anyone under the age of 18. In order to pierce or tattoo a minor, we require that the parent or guardian have our consent form notarized, prior to any procedure. This form needs to be filled out both by the minor and parent/guardian. We also require that both parties (the client and the parent/guardian) possess photo I.D.’s to be copied. Only the parents or the minor’s legal guardian can sign for them. If the minor and guardian have different addresses or last names, additional documentation of their guardianship may be required. Minor age varies on piercings, and by the individual piercers. Any piercer may refuse to do a piercing on a client, no matter how old.
We do pierce children’s earlobes, as young as babies. We prefer they have their piercing done in a sterile environment, rather than the mall, where they “pierce” with non-sterile guns. Ear piercings such as lobes and cartilage can be done on minors as young as 12. We do not perform facial (eyebrow, tongue, nose, lip, etc.) piercings on anyone under the age of 16. Navel piercings vary individually. The youngest age we would pierce a navel is 16. Navel piercings are best performed on a fully developed anatomy. At a young age, the client is still growing, and their navel may be higher in 2 - 3 years. This could possibly result in a rejected piercing, leaving the client permanently scarred. It’s best to stop by our Studio and have a professional piercer look at your navel and give you a consultation.
TATTOOING A MINOR:
The age that we will tattoo a minor varies by the tattoo artist and the design to be tattooed. We will NOT tattoo anyone under the age of 16, at all , no exceptions, nor tattoo the upper or lower arms or neck of a minor.Again the body is not fully developed , and we have been in this industry for over 15 years to have seen the negative affects on decisions such as these.
We also refuse the right to tattoo any minor at any time for any reason, we do not have to Tattoo any minor regardless of paper work and /or situation , WE MAKE EXCEPTIONS to do this on a case by case basis.
We REQUIRE the proper paper work with no deviation from this form , this is to protect the minor as well as the parents from ,someone else signing the child's form other then the legal guardian. As above , BOTH forms of ID from the Parent / Guardian AND Minor MUST be copied on the back of OUR form , and the area and tattoo must be specified. There will be a consultation before the Tattoo, at least one week or more prior to the Tattoo.
We are fully aware the kids want what they want.. We are here as a SAFE AND RESPECTED STUDIO to take care of them the best we can and know how, we simply ask for them and you as a parent to take these steps to respect our years of knowledge.
Thank You . , Sincerely
